FRANCE AW ARDS NEW PRIZE IN RECOGNITION OF SCULPTOR CASTO SOLANO.- Sculptor Casto Solano (Vitoria-Gasteiz) has been awarded with the best artist’s prize, given by the 2011 ‘Salón de Arte Vittel’ in France, as chosen by its exhibition goers. The prize is handed out based on voting by participating artists and the attending public. Solano is currently participating in the 2011 ‘Capital’ art fair in Paris, and will shortly take his exhibition to the ‘Florence Bienal’. (El correo - 27.11.11).
CASTO SOLANO ACHIEVES PRIZES IN BOTH PARIS AND FLORENCE. Basque sculptor Casto Solano has been awarded with two prizes during the past month of December. BASQUE SCULPTOR CASTO SOLANO RECEIVES PRIZE IN PARIS.- Sculptor Casto Solano, creator of both ‘Minotauro’, located in Calle Dato in Vitoria-Gasteiz, and of ‘Gate of the Honorables’ at the Bilbao Guggenheim, has received the prize of honor bequeathed by the Salón Internacional ‘Salón SNBA 2010.’ The SNBA is one of Paris´ most important arts fairs. Organized by the French National Society for Fine Arts and patronized by the president of the French Republic, it comprises pieces by close to five hundred artists of multitudinous nationalities. ONDARROA CHOOSES A STUNNING DESIGN BY CASTO SOLANO TO PAY TRIBUTE TO MARINE WORKERS. The proposed sculpture ‘To the Woman of the Sea’ has been selected as the winner of a competition to create a monument to female workers in the fishing industry. ‘PATH OF HUMAN EVOLUTION’; THE MOST VOTED FOR SCULPTURE. A public vote has determined that the sculpture to be commissioned at Paseo Sierra de Atapuerca, facing the Human Evolution Installation, will be one that reflects our evolution towards becoming bipeds.
